We are living in this world with Insecurity, Fear, hatred, Jealousy, Enemity, Violence, Intolerance, ....

I have never ever seen weather playing a role in victory ( ofcourse a morale victory) but atleast one. Its always been the case where Indian Cricket always lost to a team or weather whenever it travels abroad.
Even Gods seems to have realized that mere cricketers cannot help India win a Test match abroad inspite of the presence of Cricket Gods in the team.

1. Immediate tours to Ireland, Scotland, Namibia and Canada.

2. Drop the scheduled tour of Bangladesh, as it would be a challenging period..

3. No more tours to South Africa, New Zealand, WI, Sri Lanka etc, for the next five years. And NEVER to Australia.

4. Invite teams to India only after preparing special pitches, turning very much. No aasistance to fast bowlers (should get wickets only on yorkers, coz if it pitches, ball moves like slow motion replay)

I dont argue that this will tremendously increase India's winning rates, but atleast this is the best set of solutions currently available.

Since the space programme started with the establishment of Thumba Equatorial Rocket Launching Station in 1963, followed by the formation of Indian Space Research Organisation in 1969 and the formal setting up of Space Commission and establishment of Department of Space in 1972, the space programme has taken important strides in meeting its objectives.

The two major operational space systems – Indian National Satellite (INSAT) for telecommunication, television broadcasting and meteorological services and Indian Remote Sensing Satellites (IRS) for resources monitoring and management — together with the two operational launch vehicles, Polar Satellite Launch Vehicle (PSLV) primarily for launching remote sensing satellites into polar orbits and Geosynchronous Satellite Launch Vehicle (GSLV) for launching communication and meteorological satellites into Geosynchronous Transfer Orbit (GTO) — have continued to provide valuable services to the nation in a self-reliant manner. The application programmes, evolved with the participation of user agencies, have helped in tuning the space systems to meet national requirements. Pursuit of space science research has contributed to increase knowledge and understanding of various scientific phenomena and to evolve technologies required for the space systems. The capabilities that India has built in the process have been gainfully used for marketing the Indian space hardware and services in the international market.

INSAT 4B is ready for Saturday takeoff

Indian fourth generation communication satellite INSAT 4B has been installed atop Ariane five launcher at the European Spaceport of Korou in French Guyana for the early morning take off this Saturday.

INSAT 4B would be the second launch to be spin off on Geosynchronous transfer orbit by Ariane five after United Kingdom's Skynet 5A, a spy satellite was hurled into the space. The launch would take between 0355 and 0428 hrs (IST) on March 10, according to Arianespace.

Stocks slumped Tuesday on worries about economic growth at home and abroad, sending the Dow industrials to their biggest point drop since the day the market reopened after the Sept. 11 attacks.

A big decline in Chinese stocks, weakness in some key readings on the U.S. economy and news that Vice President Dick Cheney was the apparent target in a Taliban suicide bombing attack in Afghanistan all fueled the selling on Wall Street.

The Dow Jones industrial average (down 416.02 to 12,216.24, Charts) tumbled 416.02 points, the biggest point loss since Sept. 17, 2001, when the 30-share index tumbled nearly 685 points.

It was the seventh biggest one-day point drop ever for the Dow. On a percentage basis, the Dow lost about 3.3 percent - its biggest one-day percentage loss since March 2003.

Super Bowl stadium site hacked, seeded with exploits

The official Web site of Dolphin Stadium, home of Sunday's Super Bowl XLI, has been hacked and seeded with exploit code targeting two known Windows security flaws.

In the attack, which was discovered by malware hunters at Websense Security Labs, the server hosting the site was breached and a link to a malicious JavaScript file was inserted into the header of the front page of the site. Visitors to the site execute the script, which attempts to exploit the vulnerabilities.

This resulted in Lycos deleting over two years worth of email. It isn't so much Lycos' policy that's the problem (though that requires some scrutiny), but the response of the 'manager of all of Customer Service,' Mike Jandreau. Apparently he's not too service oriented, as his exchange with Whitney shows. And since this story was posted to The Consumerist, apparently Mr. Jandreau has become the focus of some unwanted attention. Of course, his final response to her might have something to with it: 'I'm sorry, no one here has any intentions of helping you with anything. I am the manager of all of Customer Service. Google Growth Continues with $1 Billion Profit

NEW DELHI: Did you know that ace batsman Sachin Tendulkar's sleepwalking gives others sleepless nights, or that Javagal Srinath once had reached the field wearing skipper Kapil Dev’s pair of trousers?

These and many more anecdotes, on and off the field from cricketers form part of a book Caught and Told by Sandeep Patil and Mid day Sports Editor Clayton Murzello.

"My habit of sleepwalking has given others a lot of sleepless nights, but nothing more than my habit of talking while in my sleep," writes batting maestro Sachin Tendulkar.

As his roommate during his debut tour of Pakistan in 1989, Kiran More heard him shout more than once in his sleep: "Maro, maro, that’s a four." What shocked him more was that during one these spells, "I even broke my bracelet," Tendulkar writes.

If Tendulkar writes about his habits, Sourav Ganguly recalls the bullies Tendulkar and Vinod Kambli were. "At the national under-15 camp in Indore, there were no greater bullies than Sachin Tendulkar and Vinod Kambli," writes Ganguly.

He recalls how his room in the stadium, where they were staying, was flooded and realized that Sachin and Kambli were at it again, taking revenge for a minor argument.

His first Test with the Australian accent ended in a disaster, admits Anshuman Gaikwad. Taken aback at the unusual query from an Australian official at the Melbourne Cricket ground when he reached as replacement for Surinder Amarnath in 1977-78, Gaekwad said a firm "No".

"Have you come here to die?” The Aussie, however, asked the same question again and it was captain Bishen Singh Bedi who came to the rescue and told Gaekwad that what the officer was asking was, "Have you come here today?", Gaekwad recalls.

The great thing about cricket is that it produces so many characters and so many funny moments, says Greg Chappell in his foreword. While cricket has become more of a game of statistics these days, it has really been more of a game of stories, he says. "I think the folklore of the game has survived and the game is richer because of its characters and stories," Chappell says.

Former India coach John Wright recalls how he was embarrassed when he once asked Harbhajan Singh during a camp in Chennai in 2001 to run a few laps on the ground and rushed to the pavilion to take a call from the Board of Control for Cricket in India. "When I returned to the nets, I started looking for Bhajji and was told that he was still running. That was nearly 90 minutes after I got that telephone call!" Wright says.

Tendulkar also remembers when he challenged Vinod Kambli to wear a skirt during one of the Cooch Behar trophy tours and how the irrepressible Vinod did not think twice and was all over the streets of Ahmedabad wearing a skirt. He removed it only when they returned to the hotel at 11 pm!

And beat this, one of the best fast bowlers India has ever produced, Sanjay Manjrekar, once asked Gavaskar, "Sir, when you faced the fast bowlers from the West Indies, did you ever see the ball?" Gavaskar's reply is not mentioned, but the statistics state that by then he had scored 13 of his 34 centuries against the West Indies!

Have we ever stopped for a moment to think how dependent we have become on Google search ?
Have we ever wondered why 99 in 100 people have Google as their homepage ?
Have we ever wondered what would be the repercussions of closing down google for an hour ?
How many times in a day have we thought of browsing the internet and ended up reaching our preferred page through google search ?
How many times do we use the address bar in browser to actually type in the exact address that we would like to browse ?
I wish I had the expertise to block access to "www.google.com" to all the users across the globe for an hour. Even now when I am thinking of blocking the access to google, I am again opening google homepage to search for resources. I wish to write a lot more...but what do I write ? Since the inception of google, I have stopped thinking... Maybe not a google shutdown, but atleast someday I would use my own working brain to write an article that has no google written over it ! Good luck to us !

Amazon founder recruiting for private space program

The founder of retail website Amazon has advertised for engineers to join his private program aimed at opening the galaxy to more human exploration.

Jeff Bezos posted his hiring offer at http://www.blueorigin.com , the website of the Blue Origin 9 company he is financing with the goal of making spaceflights more affordable for the masses.

"We're working, patiently and step-by-step, to lower the cost of spaceflight so that many people can afford to go and so that we humans can better continue exploring the solar system," Bezos wrote.

"Accomplishing this mission will take a long time, and we're working on it methodically. Slow and steady is the way to achieve results, and we do not kid ourselves into thinking this will get easier as we go along."

Bezos included photos and a video clip of a November test flight of a Goddard rocket in Texas. An Amazon web service was used to create the visual presentation.

According to the piece, nearly a quarter of all California startups which went into business between 1995 and 2005 had an immigrant as a founding member. These businesses, together, employ almost half a million workers and generated about $50 billion in sales in the year 2005. The study seems quite topical, given recent discussions in the U.S. capital. From the article: 'Supporters of an immigration bill are likely to use the study to argue the importance of foreign-born workers to the U.S. economy. An immigration bill passed by the last Congress and heavily lobbied by business groups would have greatly increased the number of green cards available to skilled workers.
